Cargo Theft Background Check Information

|

Cargo theft has become an increasingly expensive crime for shippers and receivers across the United States as organized crime families intercept the shipments to either sell them illegally within the country or to ship them to other countries where the thieves can make a profit. It is becoming more and more important for the owners of the shipping companies to perform a cargo theft background check on potential employees of the company to reduce the risk of hiring someone that is working for the organized crime families.
The thieves that specialize in cargo theft have become more sophisticated over the years, to the point where today they can make an entire truck and its shipment disappear into thin air never to be seen again. Performing a cargo theft background check to look for any disturbing patterns in a potential employee's past will help the company retain their merchandise by identifying people that may have a connection to the crime families or are so far in debt that theft may seem like an attractive option.
A cargo theft background check will not identify all of the risk factors in a person's life because it will only list crimes that the person has been convicted of, not everything that they have been accused of. Some at risk employees may slip through the cracks, but the people with obvious issues will be screened out of the application process by the pre-employment background check.
